Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is a wonderful trek where you will find yourself enriched in diverse cultures, dense rhododendron forests, and various breathtaking activities. The Annapurna region is surrounded by the glorious peaks of the Himalayas, and some of the most beautiful mountains in the world. 

Our  Annapurna Base Camp + Poonhill trek itinerary is designed with care which offers you the view of mountains like Annapurna I ( 8,091 m) Manaslu ( 8,163 m), Lamjung Himal( 6,983 m), Dhaulagiri (8,167m), and Machhapuchhre( 6,993 m). In addition to the luxurious view of the mountains, you will also find yourself indulging in various fun activities like hiking to Poonhill ( 3,210 m), walking across the rivers, and a quick downhill walk to a hot spring located just a few kilometers below Jhinu Dhada. After the long trek, dipping yourself in the hot spring and relaxing with the serene sounds of the river would be the cherry on the cake.

Annapurna Sanctuary trek overview 

The trekking starts with arriving at Tribhuvan Airport. Next, drop off at the hotel for you to rest. The other day starts with a quick 30 minutes flight to Pokhara. There will be a bus waiting which will be heading towards Ulleri, a small village of the Magar, an ethnic group of Nepal. In total, this drive will take around 4.5 hours. Then, dinner will be served. The first day of the trek starts from Ulleri. The first trek, the route takes you through the Rhododendron jungle. The Rhododendron is the national flower of Nepal, used mainly for medical purposes and drinks as well. The trek takes 3-4 hours to reach Ghorepani, a small village with beautiful little lodges. After lunch, the guide will take you to a viewpoint known as Poonhill ( 3,210m). Poonhill is a beautiful viewpoint, where you can see amazing peaks like Annapurna I ( 8,091 m) and Dhaulagiri( 8,167m). 

The next morning delicious breakfast will be served and the team will be headed towards Tadapani( 2647m). On the way here, you will see beautiful forests, flowers, and an amazing hilly view. The team will halt here for the night. Day 5 will be a 6-hour hike towards Chomrong. From Chhomrong, we will be heading to Dovan. The next long hike will be from Dovan to Machapuchare Base Camp ( 3700m). Splendid view of Annapurna I, routes includes crossing through the Modi Khola river and reaching Machapuchhre Base Camp. For the next day, we will move from Machapuchare Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp.  From here, you will be able to see Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, and also Annapurna I. Moving on, we will ascend downwards towards Jhinu Dhada. Here you can also visit the hot springs near Modi Khola( Khola: River). Reminder: Take bathing suits, and towels changing rooms available down there. On the last day, we will be taking a short hike to Matkyu( 1500m). From there, you will take the bus with the team Pokhara. The next day, a direct flight to Kathmandu.

  • Enjoy the lovely sunset view from Poonhill. The view of the mountains and the orange sunset will be perfect with a cup of tea at 3210m. 
  • Trekking in the Annapurna region will be less difficult as compared to the Everest and Khumbu region. The tracks are mixed with uphills, downhills, and straight paths as well. 
  • The hot spring located below Jhinu Dhada will be an exciting activity. If you are someone who loves adventures, and hot springs, you will definitely adore this trip. 
  • The trip will have an average of 5-6 hours of a hike per day. This means plenty of leisure time. During this time, you can play fun card games, sing songs and explore the area with the group.
